Talent pooling refers to the strategic process in the human resources industry of proactively identifying, engaging, and maintaining a pool of potential candidates who possess the skills and qualifications necessary for future job openings within an organization.

A company may use talent pooling to continuously nurture relationships with promising candidates, such as keeping in touch with skilled professionals who applied for previous positions but were not hired. This way, when a relevant job opportunity arises, the company already has a pre-qualified pool of candidates to consider.
