FLSA Status

FLSA stands for the Fair Labor Standards Act, which is a federal law in the United States that establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping, and child labor standards. FLSA status refers to the classification of an employee as exempt or non-exempt under the provisions of the FLSA.

Example

An example of FLSA status is when an employee is classified as exempt, they are not entitled to receive overtime pay, while a non-exempt employee is eligible for overtime pay for hours worked beyond the standard 40-hour workweek.
