The exit interview is a conversation between a departing employee and a representative from the company's HR department. The purpose of the interview is to gather feedback from the employee about their experience working for the company, including their reasons for leaving and any suggestions for improvement.

An HR representative may conduct an exit interview with a departing employee to learn why they are leaving and to gather feedback on how the company can improve its retention efforts.
