Domestic partner benefits

A type of employee benefit that allows an employee to extend benefits such as health insurance coverage to their domestic partner, who may not be their legal spouse. This benefit is typically offered by employers who recognize same-sex partnerships or other non-traditional family structures.

Example
An employee at a company is in a committed relationship with their same-sex partner, and the company offers domestic partner benefits, allowing the partner to be covered under the employee's health insurance plan.
