Bargaining representative

A bargaining representative refers to an individual or organization that is authorized to represent and negotiate on behalf of a group of employees, typically in the context of collective bargaining. The bargaining representative acts as the voice of the employees and advocates for their interests and concerns during negotiations with the employer regarding employment terms, conditions, and benefits. The representative may be a trade union, a labor organization, or any other entity that has been designated or elected to represent the employees in the collective bargaining process. They play a crucial role in ensuring that the employees' rights and needs are effectively communicated and addressed during the negotiation process.

Example:

A manufacturing company, a trade union may be designated as the bargaining representative for the employees. When it is time to negotiate a new labor contract with the employer, the trade union will represent the collective interests of the employees and engage in discussions with the company's management. They may negotiate on various matters such as wages, working hours, benefits, and workplace conditions. The bargaining representative will gather input from the employees, present their proposals to the employer, and work towards reaching a mutually satisfactory agreement that benefits the employees they represent.
