Absenteeism

Absenteeism Policy refers to a set of guidelines and rules implemented by an organization to address and manage employee absences from work. This policy outlines the expectations, procedures, and consequences related to absenteeism.

Example

An example of an absenteeism policy could be that employees are required to notify their supervisor or the HR department at least two hours before their scheduled shift if they are unable to come to work. Failure to comply with this notification requirement may result in disciplinary action, such as a written warning or loss of pay for the missed hours. The policy may also specify the maximum number of unexcused absences allowed within a certain time period before further disciplinary measures are taken.
